Another month behind us, where does the time go? I think it feels especially fast because around these parts the weather has NOT been what you usually expect for “June is right around the corner.” It might be a minor exaggeration but May has felt like it was 99% gray skies and colder than usual temps. Spring, where you at?!
Either way, the time is here to share the things I loved this past month, let’s do this thang.
4 Year Blog Anniversary
This May marked 4 years since I started this blog. WHAT? It feels like a decade ago, to be honest. I can’t believe how much I’ve learned, grown, and adapted in these last 4 years. This blog has taught me so much, and I’m so excited for another 4 years…and then some!
E-Book RELEASED
I launched my first ever e-book on CaffeinateAndConquer.com and it was so exciting. I am pumped to see how many of you snatched it up already. The book is called “Explode Your Traffic” and it’s a guide to getting real, organic traffic to your blog…everything you need to know about SEO and getting and maintaining new traffic in a sustainable way.
Office Makeover
We finally completed our office makeover and I’m so dang smitten with it. Michael and I both needed a room where we could work, and we needed to be conscious about space as this room will also double as a guest room. The full-length wall desk idea came together perfectly and is an awesome space-saver. I’ve been having a blast settling in here after work to blog, edit videos, etc. See the full post of the office makeover here.
This Leather Jacket
After 2 solid months of NO clothing buying at all, Michael and I allowed ourselves to pick up a few new items recently. I found this leather jacket on clearance at Nordstroms for over 50% off! It’s currently 40% off on their website RIGHT HERE if you want to take a look! I have a black leather jacket I wear the heck out of and have had my eye out for a brown one for a good 2 years (finding the right leather jacket is tough.) So, when I saw this one I knew it would be a valuable purchase I’d wear all the time.
Side note: When I was trying this on in the store to decide if I wanted it or not, Michael asked one of the salespeople their opinion. He literally does this all the time and it embarrasses the heck out of me LOL. Firstly, I think it’s funny that he assumes any sales person knows everything about everything. And, like, of course they are going to say it looks good…they want me to buy it. Boys.
A Day at Foxwoods Resort Casino
This month Foxwoods Resort Casino here in CT invited Michael and me down for a day. We spent the afternoon shopping at the Tanger Outlets, which is EXPANSIVE. I think they have something like 80+ stores in there including my favs like Francesca’s, J.Crew, Old Navy, Nine West, etc. I actually scored these Nine West sandals on mega sale for only $27!
After that Foxwoods Resort Casino treated me to a little spa time at G Spa. I never splurge for spa time myself so it was ah-mazing. I got my hair blown out and styled (which I’ve never had done!) as well as my makeup done (which I’ve only had done once..for my wedding!) They also served us fruit smoothies and champagne so it was like heaven. Highly recommend. Anything with fruit smoothies + chanpagne is high on my list.
Last we stopped by the Sugar Factory which just recently opened at Foxwoods Resort Casino. Talk about fun! This restaurant is decorated in the cutest decor, it’s like glam meets Candyland. They have elaborate drinks that fizz and smoke when you get them and a menu of all your favorite American food. But, the absolute best thing about the Sugar Factory in my opinion…the milkshakes. Guys, these things were EXPANSIVE and DELICIOUS. Dipped in chocolate, topped with candy and popcorn and whipped cream and waffles. WOW, I’d go back a million times for those milkshakes. If you find yourself there I suggest the “Giggles Snickers Milkshake,” you can thank me later.
Becca x Chrissy Palette
I received this newest palette from Becca and honestly wasn’t too sure about it. Sometimes I assume certain makeup launches are just gimmicks and ploys to get sales. Everyone loves Chrissy so it seemed that way to me. Well, I ate my words because I just adore this palette. Unlike the Becca x Jaclyn Hill palette (which I also do love) it’s a little more easy to use. The colors and highlighters are not SO pigmented so it’s a very easy to use and manageable product. The Becca x Jaclyn Hill palette is almost too pigmented making it’s harder to use – even with a very light hand you can end up with too much blush on your face. The new Becca x Chrissy palette gives you great color payoff but in a much more manageable fashion. Also, the blush color that comes with it is my life.
CT Style Feature
In April I stopped by the CT Style (a local morning news show here in CT) to share some DIY Face Masks, you can see that here. But in May I was invited to do a feature sharing tips for feeling more energized in the morning where the reporter came out to my house to film. It was a lot of fun! As somehow who makes their own videos I especially enjoyed having someone else do all the filming/lighting/sound!
Baubles from Charming Charlie
This month I partnered up with Charming Charlie and received some fun new pieces. My favorite were these colorful earrings which are the perfect statement piece. I also got this off-the-shoulder bodysuit that I’m so in love with. Bodysuits are perfect for high-waisted shorts and skirts, and I love the off the shoulder style! It’s also a great deal! I also have an affiliate promo code for you all to snag some sweet deals from there as well! Use the code TU0S4RIQ to get $10 off $60 when shopping online and get the same deal in stores using 720000000247 (that’s seven zeros!)
